Lost Orchid is one of Tretchikoff’s characteristic paintings portraying the passion, intrigue and exotic beauty of his artwork. Tretchikoff was a self taught artist who painted realistic figures, portraits and still lifes.

Most of his many works were inspired by Malaysian or Chinese subjects that had influenced Tretchikoff during his early years spent in Manchuria. He is considered to be the “King of Kitsch” and one of the most commercially successful artists of all time. His ‘Chinese Girl’ is one of the best selling art prints to date.
